Within just a few months, thousands of mortgage products were withdrawn from the market.  Very few mortgage brokers are surviving in the economy as it is now.  However, most of the mortgage brokers that have gone under due to these circumstances were fairly new to the market.  There are still some veteran mortgage brokers making a living now that the property market is down.  Thankfully, the property market is seeing a rise in some places around the world.  Costa Rica, islands in the Caribbean and other exotic islands where tourism is still steady, there is a decent property market.  While tourism can fund some of the property markets around the globe, it cannot boost the property market everywhere.  There will always be a market for property, but this market will not likely make a quick recovery.  This means that the mortgage broker is not going to be in high demand for a few years to come.  In fact, anywhere in the world that there is not a decent tourist stream will probably not be seeing a demand for mortgage brokers until the economy is completely healed.  Unfortunately, this is most places in the world.

Even though the mortgage lending business has suffered greatly in the last few years, it seems that it does have a future.  The future of this business will depend on the property market.  If the market does not make a full recovery or close to it, there will not be many openings in this profession of mortgage brokers.  If the economy can bounce back from the state that it is in, we will surely start seeing a larger increase in the property market.  Hopefully, the economic recovery will not take as many years as it is expected to.  With the first world governments working to bail out and save their financial institutions, the economic crunch we are experiencing may be relieved.  Once this has happened, we will hopefully see a rise in all the markets.  Even with the first world governments working hard to bail out their financial institutions, this recovery may take as long as a decade or longer, in the worst case scenario.  The first world governments can only give so much money to their financial institutions before there is no money left for anything else.  Hopefully, within the next five to seven years, we will see the future of mortgage brokers and lending in a better light.
